Thirteen runners will contest tomorrow’s 2015 Group 3 BRC Sprint (1200m) at Doomben Racecourse; offering punters exceptional value from a betting standpoint and several key opportunities to place a winning wager.
Charlie Boy ($3.70) has maintained status as outright favourite in 2015 BRC Sprint betting markets with leading online bookie Ladbrokes.com.au ahead of clear market mover Estonian Princess ($4.80) and Fast ‘N’ Rocking ($5).
Will Charlie Boy justify favouritism and win the 2015 BRC Sprint or will one of his talented rivals find the line in the clear?
Fast ‘N’ Rocking ($5)
Fast ‘N’ Rocking has laid a great account for himself several times at Group 1 level this time in and will relish a step-back in class for the 2015 BRC Sprint. A standout performer for trainers David Hayes and Tom Dabernig through his 27 career starts, the Fastnet Rock gelding placed third in the Group 1 Oakleigh Plate (1100m) on February 28th; running on for fourth in the Group 1 The Galaxy (1100m) before arguably his most impressive effort for sixth in the talent-rich Group 1 T.J. Smith Stakes (1200m) on April 6th. Allocated the central barrier 7, Fast ‘N’ Rocking is sure to receive a gem of a ride from Craig Williams.
Talented veteran Speediness has been unlucky not to win a Group 1 race, and while charged with carrying a race-high 59kgs in the 2015 BRC Sprint, usually finds his best form under these conditions and is more than a chance of finishing in the first three. Posting seven wins and a further 11 minors through his 38 career starts, the son of Testa Rossa clearly needed the run when eighth in the Group 2 Victory Stakes (1200m) first-up a fortnight ago and is sure to have taken valuable condition. While needing some luck from barrier 10, Speediness’ chances of success are sure to be boosted by the addition of jockey James McDonald.
Rock Sturdy ($6)
Leading contender Rock Sturdy was unlucky to be allocated the outside gate for the 2015 BRC Sprint but will carry just 56.5kgs and has been confirmed to be partnered by leading hoop Hugh Bowman. Trainer Joe Pride has saddled leading sprinters Terravista, Tiger Tees and Ball Of Muscle to standout success over the last year, and is offered a great chance of continuing the trend with Rock Sturdy in the BRC Sprint, who is both a proven performer over the distance and a Stakes winner in Sydney.
